Thursday, June 20, I went to Erie Lake & Niagara Falls. The road trip took 2 hours from Pittsburgh to Erie Lake and Niagara Falls are 2 hours away from Erie Lake. Here is my road trip map.
Erie Lake is really nice, I was accompanying Indonesian family- Mas Adrianto, playing as a photo capturing person at the same time which was a pleasure to do so. Here is the picture of them.
The bike lane, play ground, sandy field, and gathering spot are facilities that really awesome to enjoy with. we had lunch which was prepared by Ito family , with a mild windy, sun shine really bright but not to hot for our skin though. Spaghetti was the menu with some nuggets placed on a picnic bin.
We spent like 2 hours there, before gassing off Erie Lake toward Niagara Falls. One and half hours later we were entering buffalo city, looked like Industrial city at the edge of Erie Lake. It was really hot outside, so we did turning on cooler air of car. It was really nice weather. Far away from Niagara falls, we could see the the maid of the mist coming up behind Goat Island.
So, finally we saw two arch bridges crossing Niagara river, and entering Niagara Falls gate. We took a walk 5 minute from parking lot to the visiting view site. We paid like 15.5 USD which covering the boat tour toward the falls.
We are equipped with plastic cover to prevent water splash wetting our clothes. Blue and transparent with the symbol of Maid of the Mist.
I was really excited to know the one of the biggest water falls in the world. Niagara Falls is actually can be seen from two sides : US & Canada. Located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world, with a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 m). Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by vertical height and also by flow rate. The falls are located 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Toronto, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York.(Wiki)
If I hike back heading to the gate, and I turning back and see the Canada city view. And I can see the border within yard.
